Japanese Beer

November 8, 2008

Today I was in Stockholm and visited an expo called “Det Goda Köket” (The Delicious Kitchen).
It’s an expo were you walk around and taste all kind of delicious food from all around the world and drink wine.
It was a really taste experience and I look forward to the next years expo.

Before I took the train home to my hometown Västerås I ate dinner at a Japanese restaurant called Ikki Sushi.
There I ate something called “Ikki-zen” which basically is a mixed plate of Tempura, Sushi and Yakiniku.
Really delicious I can tell and with that I drank beer, Japanese beer.

The main topic of this post is Japanese beer and I kind of had a flashback when I drank that beer at Ikki Sushi.
I remember when I was in Japan this summer and drank Japanese beer for the first time.
The first thing I thought about the taste then was how sweet it was (especially Asahi beer).
No offense about the taste but I think Japanese beer differs a bit from other breweries like Heineken and Carlsberg (and also Swedish breweries like Mariestads and Pripps).
Like I said Japanese beer is a little bit sweeter and really I like it, especially together with Japanese food ; ).

A question to my readers is what is your favourite beer?
Mine is Mariestads, I love the full-bodied and bitter taste.

Blog started!

November 7, 2008

Konnichi ha minnasan.
This is the first post on my blog.

For a long time I’ve thought of starting a blog and a few days ago I finally took my time creating one.
The hardest bit by starting a blog is to come up with something to write about in the first post.
I will give it a try by presenting myself.

My name is Mattias Bäversten and I am 19 years old (20 in february 2009).
I live in Västerås, Sweden with my mom and dad.
I am studying Computer Networks and Data Communication at the university Mälardalens Högskola (my first year).

I spend my spare time on Otaku things like anime, manga, figures and games.
Currently I spend more time on anime than games though.

My interest in Japan (and its Otaku-ness) began for about 5 years ago when I discovered that Japan is one of the world leading countries of electronics (another big interest).
About one year later I discovered the world of anime and I am now a true fan of anime (you maybe can figure out what my current favourite anime is ; ).
I while after that came the interest of manga (my collection of manga is quite small though).
When I’m not spending my time on anime I play games, most of the time RPG’s because of my big interest in such games.

I hope you enjoyed my first post on my blog even thought it may be a little bit formally.
I’m hopping I will gain a few readers to my blog.

I’m ending todays post by posting a cute picture of the Vocaloids Miku, Rin and Len.
